Clear aisle width
Measure between permanent obstructions at the narrowest point, including rack protection and columns.
Right-angle stacking
Truck length, load length and turning geometry work together. Ask for the required stacking aisle for the real pallet.
Door and crossing limits
Record door width and height, blind corners, pedestrian crossings, dock plates and traffic controls.
Surface and gradients
Floor joints, ramps, debris and transitions affect clearance, stability and manoeuvring—not only traction.

Is turning radius the same as required aisle width?
No. Aisle requirement also depends on truck geometry, load dimensions, clearance and the specific manoeuvre.
Should I measure empty or loaded movement?
Measure the loaded route because the pallet or load can materially change turning and clearance needs.
What doorway dimensions matter?
Record clear width and height at the narrowest point, including guards, thresholds, ramps and overhead fittings.
Can a compact forklift solve every narrow-aisle problem?
No. Capacity, stability, lift height, operator position and the complete movement still need to be matched.
